About SCFC

Sheffield Coldfield Fencing Club was established in 1957, and has been fencing almost continuously in The Royal Town of Sheffield Coldfield ever since.

We now fence every Monday evening at Wyndley Leisure Centre The club prides itself not only on quality coaching but on our freindliness and approachability. This has made SCFC one of the biggest and most successful clubs in the West Midlands.

We have a number of excellent coaches, including our professional coach Peter Cormack, and Wyndley offers excellent facilities with changing rooms and showers. The club itself has a good stock of equipment: Jackets, masks, weaponry and scoring equipment.

What do I need? If you're coming down for the first time, wear sensible sports clothing: White-soled trainers (squash or indoor tennis shoes are ideal) and long tracksuit-type bottoms are a must (fencing in shorts is not allowed). The club will supply all of your fencing equipment*, hire of which is included in your entrance fee.
What do you do? A typical evening's fencing consists of:
7pm - 8pm Juniors fencing.
8:15pm - 9pm Warm-up and group lessons.
9pm - 10:15pm Individual/small group tuition.
10:15pm - 11pm Replacing lost fluids in Wyndley's bar.

Fees:

Junior Fencing (includes entrance, tuition, 3rd party insurance and use of equipment for 1 Monday evening): £3.00 per session.
